Pharmacology

Pharmacology is a branch of science that deals with the study of drugs and their actions on living systems - that is, the study of how drugs work in the body (sometimes referred to as 'drug actions').This module will focus on psycho-pharmacology which concerns the action of mind-altering or psycho-active drugs. Pharmacologists conduct research to develop chemical compounds and substances used as new medications. Some pharmacologists focus on the effects of harmful chemicals, while others research the effects of chemicals on specific regions of the body, such as the respiratory or cardiovascular system.
