Biography

I am passionate in Education and Research in Pharmaceutical sciences and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to educate others. I have over ten years experience as a pharmacist with a demonstrated history of working in the university, hospital, health-care system & pharmaceutical industry. Skilled in Pharmaceutics, Individualized chemotherapy treatment, Cost-effective medicine, Forecasting and budgeting of medicines and medical devices, Procurement of medicines and medical devices, Quality in Health-care system, Research and Development of new medicines, Clinical study of new medicines, Pharmacology, Generic Programming, Medical Devices, and GxP. Strong healthcare services professional with a PhD focused in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy from University of Tirana, Faculty of Medicine/Department of Pharmacy. Research Interest: Most current cancer chemotherapy is unsatisfactory. There is a trend towards changing the norm for drug selection; one approach is to seek individualized cancer chemotherapy (ICC). ICC is an approach to maximizing the efficacy of chemotherapy and reducing its adverse effects to a minimum. Evaluating a new medicine involves not only efficacy, safety and quality, but also cost and cost-effectiveness. A simple determination of price is inadequate for determining the actual cost of a medicine for the health-care system. Detailed description of pharmacoeconomic methods and drug cost-effectiveness and cost benefit principles are very important to understand and know. Ensuring equitable access to essential medical products, vaccines and technologies of assured quality, safety, efficacy and their scientifically sound and cost-effective use is an important function of a well performing health-care system, especially in low-income and middle-income countries.

Research Interest

I am mainly focused in individualized cancer chemotherapy, cost-effectiveness of medicines, quality of medicines and medical devices in health-care system, etc, with focus in low and middle income countries. I am also interested in Research and Pharmaceutical development of new medicines and Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy.
