Biography

Dr. Nazia Ali is a faculty member- Assistant Professor at the Department of Occupational Therapy, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India. Innovative Occupational Therapist, with over 14 years? clinical experience with adults, adolescents, and children within the inpatient, outpatient units, school, and community-based settings. She values continuing education and evidence-based practice. As an Assistant Professor, She enjoys teaching students in their fieldwork placements and inspiring them to become excellent therapists. Passionate about promoting the profession of occupational therapy by providing client-centered, evidenced-based, and occupation-focused interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Her professional interests include research and addressing the behavior issues among children and adolescents with special needs and women?s health. She has published numerous book chapters and a number of research papers in peer reviewed journals of high repute and also writes articles for International websites on Occupational Therapy and well-being, coping, mindfulness for children and adults. She was awarded as ?Young Occupational Therapist? in 2018 and ?Best Young Occupational Therapist & Educator? in 2019. She has been Associated with lots of national and International Workshops and Conferences as a Delegate, Resource Person and an Organizer. Being a Gold Medalist in NGO Management, Nazia has taken on leadership roles and program development in several settings including inpatient psychiatry, home and community care. She values client centered care and loves engaging clients by hearing their story, empowering and enabling them to set and achieve goals and overcome obstacles. She keeps active in her spare time by Volunteering as an Occupational Therapist. She is a Team Member (Joint Secretary) of Saksham EK ABHIYAAN- Charity for Spinal Injury since 30 July, 2014 NATIONAL AWARDS, HONOURS AND FELLOWSHIPS RECEIVED 1. Emerging Occupational Therapist and Educator Award for Excellence and Leadership in Healthcare by Golden AIM Awards 2021. 2. Women Researcher Award by International Research Awards on Science, Health and Engineering SHEN Research Awards 2020 3. Best Young Occupational Therapist and Educator by India Leadership Awards in 2019 4. Young Occupational Therapist Award by Venus International Foundation on 29th September 2018, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. 5. Bestowed upon the prestigious title FRIOASD as ROYAL FELLOW member of the IOASD for her extraordinary contribution in the field of education and research in the field of rehabilitation by International Organization for Academic and Scientific Development (IOASD) in October, 2023.
