Biosys Journal Biotechnology & Bioengineering

Instructions for Authors

The Biosys Journal: Biotechnology & Bioengineering invites contributions of high-quality, original research articles, reviews, case studies, short communications, and policy papers that align with the scope of the journal. All submissions should follow the guidelines provided below to facilitate a smooth and efficient review and publication process.

General Submission Guidelines:

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system. Authors are required to create an account on the portal to submit their manuscript and track its progress. Only manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) will be accepted.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter. The cover letter should briefly explain the manuscript's significance, confirm that the manuscript is original, and state that it has not been submitted or published elsewhere. The cover letter must also indicate the names and affiliations of all co-authors and confirm that they all approve the manuscript for submission.

The corresponding author should be clearly identified, along with their full contact information, including email address, phone number, and institutional affiliation. The corresponding author will be responsible for communication with the journal during the review process.

Article Types:

The Biosys Journal publishes a range of article types, including:

Research Articles: These should present original data-driven research with clear methodologies and significant findings in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering.

Review Articles: These should provide a comprehensive, critical overview of existing literature and highlight advancements or emerging trends in biotechnology and bioengineering research.

Case Studies: These should document unique or novel applications of biotechnology, providing real-world examples that contribute to the practical understanding of bioengineering techniques.

Short Communications: These should offer preliminary or concise findings of significant interest, intended to share important breakthroughs or observations that warrant rapid dissemination.

Policy Papers: These should address the broader implications of biotechnological advances, discussing their impact on health policy, regulatory frameworks, and societal issues.

Manuscript Structure:

All submitted manuscripts should follow the structure outlined below:

Title Page: The title should be concise yet descriptive. Include full names, institutional affiliations, and contact details of all authors. The corresponding author’s contact details should be clearly marked.

Abstract: Provide a structured summary (150-250 words) that briefly outlines the research objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. The abstract should be written in a way that is accessible to both experts and non-experts in the field.

Keywords: List 5-7 relevant keywords that will assist in indexing and facilitate the discoverability of the manuscript.

Introduction: Clearly present the background and motivation for the research, stating the objectives of the study and its significance in the context of biotechnology and bioengineering.

Materials and Methods: Provide detailed descriptions of the experimental design, materials used, and methodologies followed to conduct the research. Include information about study participants or experimental models, if applicable.

Results: Present the results in a clear and logical order. Use tables, figures, and diagrams to support the text, and provide appropriate explanations for each visual element.

Discussion: Discuss the implications of the results, compare them with previous studies, and explore their potential applications in biotechnology and bioengineering. Acknowledge any limitations of the study and suggest areas for future research.

Conclusion: Summarize the main findings of the study and provide recommendations for future research or potential practical applications of the findings.

References: Cite all sources used in the manuscript in APA style. Ensure that all references are relevant and up-to-date, particularly with respect to the latest advances in biotechnology and bioengineering.

Figures and Tables:

Figures and tables should be embedded within the manuscript text. Each figure and table should be numbered consecutively and accompanied by a descriptive caption. The quality of the figures should be high (at least 300 dpi) to ensure clarity in print and online versions. Authors should also provide any data used in the figures or tables in separate files if requested by the editorial team.

Review Process:

The Biosys Journal follows a double-blind peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts are initially reviewed by the editorial team for compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and quality standards are sent to at least two independent experts for peer review. Authors will receive feedback from reviewers within 4-6 weeks of submission, and they will be required to make revisions based on the reviewers’ comments.

Revised manuscripts must be submitted with a response letter addressing all reviewer comments. The final decision on the manuscript's acceptance will be based on the revised submission’s scientific merit, clarity, and relevance.

Ethical Considerations:

Authors must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, especially concerning the use of human or animal subjects. Ethical approval from relevant bodies, such as institutional review boards or ethics committees, must be obtained and clearly stated in the manuscript. Authors should also disclose any conflicts of interest related to the research, including financial support or relationships with any organizations that might benefit from the study.

Copyright and Open Access:

Upon acceptance of an article, authors are required to transfer the copyright of the manuscript to Biosys Journal: Biotechnology & Bioengineering. The journal operates under an open-access publishing model, ensuring that all articles are freely accessible to the global scientific community. This model facilitates the widespread dissemination of research and allows for greater impact and engagement with the scientific and medical communities.

Publication Fees:

Accepted articles are subject to a processing fee of $1,500. Authors who face financial challenges may request a fee waiver or partial fee reduction by contacting the editorial office in advance. Any fee reduction requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
