Completed my PhD program from Jadavpur University, Kolkata India on 31st July 2014 in the field molecular and cellular biology of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Postdoctoral research at Texas Tech University HSC, USA on molecular mechanism of hyperopia induce lung injury and its prevention with isoflurane in mouse model in 2015. Postdoctoral research at Stephenson Cancer Center, OUHSC, USA on molecular therapeutic targets of CLL B-cells and mechanism of drug resistance from 2016 to 2018.  At present working as a Assistant Staff Scientist at the Department of Arthritis and Clinical Immunology on autoimmune disease Lupus aiming to identify the disease development mechanism and suitable molecular targets( from 2018 to present).

Biography:

Dr. Kurosu has a long-term interest in identifying new drug targets for bacterial infections and cancer chemotherapeutics. He has a broad background in organic chemistry/medicinal chemistry and protein chemistry, with special training and expertise in preclinical drug discovery (hit to lead). His research includes antibacterial and anticancer drug discoveries associated with Gram-negative bacteria, Mycobacterium spp., spore-forming bacteria (e.g., Clostridioides difficile), and solid cancers (e.g., pancreatic, breast, and ovarian cancers). As PIs on several NIH-and internally funded programs, he has studied essential enzymes for growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and glycosyl transferases for pancreatic cancers. Through these projects, he successfully collaborated with other researchers (cancer biologists, structural biochemists, microbiologists, enzymologists, geneticist, industrial medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and a formulation scientist). One of the notable drug discovery projects is that he contributed to develop eribulin, a halichondrin B analogue with a Harvard scientist and the industrial scientists. He has developed concise syntheses of complex natural and unnatural molecules, and design/synthesize chiral small molecules, and generates small optimized libraries. He also develops convenient assays amenable to HTS. These efforts have resulted in the discovery of several new drug leads effective against dormant M. tuberculosis, C. difficile spores, and MDR-Acinetobacter baumannii. A new anticancer DPAGT1 inhibitor developed in his group is innovative. Our lab has set up cytotoxicity assays against a panel of cancer cell lines and bacterial growth inhibitory assays against batteries of pathogens including BSL3 bacteria. Basic biochemical assays and pharmacological evaluation including in vitro ADMET studies have been performed in his lab.

DR. ALAIN L. FYMAT is a medical-physical scientist and an educator. He is the current President/ CEO and Institute Professor at the International Institute of Medicine & Science with a previous appointment as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer and Professor at the Weil Institute of Critical Care Medicine, California, U.S.A. He was formerly Professor of Radiology, Radiological Sciences, Radiation Oncology, Critical Care Medicine, and Physics at several U.S. and European Universities. Earlier, he was Deputy Director (Western Region) of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Office of Research Oversight). At the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Medical Center, he was Scientific Director of Radiology, Director of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center and, for a time, Acting Chair of Radiology. Previously, he was Director of the Division of Biomedical and Biobehavioral Research at the University of California at Los Angeles/Drew University of Medicine and Science. He was also Scientific Advisor to the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council, for its postdoctoral programs tenable at the California Institute of Technology and Member of the Advisory Group for Research & Development, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He is Health Advisor to the American Heart & Stroke Association, Coachella Valley Division, California. He is a frequent Keynote Speaker and Organizing Committee member at several international scientific/medical conferences. He has lectured extensively in the U.S.A, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has published in excess of 500 scholarly scientific publications and books. I was born in Catania (Italy) in 1982. I currently work as a Senior Academic Researcher and Assistant Professor at the University of Catania (Italy). After graduation with honours in Medicine, I trained at the School of Neurology and got the international PhD at the same University. As visiting Clinical Research Fellow, I further trained at the Department of Neuroscience and Clinical Neurophysiology of the Newcastle University (UK). In 2013 I was selected for a Scientific Fellowship promoted by the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS). From 2013 to October 2018, I worked as a Consultant Neurologist at the “Oasi Research Institute–IRCCS” in Troina (Italy), which is a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization (WHO), and where now I currently hold the position of Chief of the Clinical Neurophysiology Research Unit. Prof Jain is presently working as a dean in the Dept of Pharmaceutical sciences at Jayoti Vidyapeeth Woman University, Jaipur Rajasthan. Dr. Jain is also working as a director for Innovare academic sciences Pvt. Ltd for online education, Intellectual property rights services, and research publications. Dr. Zameer has research interest is in the field of Biochemistry of thiol gene expression, protein/enzyme studies, regulation of metabolic pathways with special reference to cellular oxidative stress, biofilms, and cellular signaling pathways involved in lifestyle disorders with a focus that includes bioinformatics approaches and epigenetics (miRNA & histone) mediated mechanisms in inflammatory fly and mouse models (T-cells mediated response) and their related microbiome analyses (In silico, In vitro, In situ and In vivo models).
