Instructions for Authors

Dermatology Research: Skin Insights invites original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, clinical reports, and short communications that contribute to advancing the understanding of skin health, diseases, and novel treatment modalities. Authors are encouraged to follow the guidelines outlined below to facilitate a smooth submission, review, and publication process.

Manuscript Submission:

1. Submission Process: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal’s online submission portal. Authors should ensure that all necessary files are correctly formatted and uploaded.

2. Cover Letter: A cover letter must accompany the manuscript submission, providing a brief summary of the manuscript's significance, confirming that the manuscript is original, and stating that it is not under consideration by any other journal. The cover letter should also include the name and contact details of the corresponding author.

3. Manuscript Structure: Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

• Title Page: The title page should include the manuscript title, names of all authors, their affiliations, and the contact details of the corresponding author, including email and phone number.
• Abstract: The abstract should be structured, summarizing the key aspects of the study including background, research objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions. The abstract should be between 150-250 words. Keywords: Authors should provide 4-6 relevant keywords that represent the content of the manuscript.
• Main Text: The manuscript should include the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
• References: All references should follow the APA citation style. Authors should ensure the citation of recent and relevant studies in the field.

4. Figures and Tables: Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and placed within the manuscript. Each figure and table should be accompanied by a concise legend. Figures should be of high resolution and submitted in acceptable formats (e.g., .TIFF, .JPEG, .PNG).

5. Ethics Statement: Authors must include a statement that the study complies with ethical standards for research involving human or animal subjects. Institutional review board (IRB) approval or animal care and use committee (IACUC) approval should be stated where applicable.

6. Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial, professional, or personal relationships that could bias the manuscript.

Review Process:

1. Peer Review: All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Authors will receive initial feedback within four to six weeks, and revisions may be requested based on reviewer feedback.
2. Revisions: If revisions are required, authors must submit the revised manuscript within two weeks. Authors should address all reviewer comments in a point-by-point response and provide a detailed explanation of the changes made.
3. Acceptance: The editorial board will make the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance. Manuscripts will be evaluated based on scientific quality, relevance, and contribution to the field of dermatology.

Copyright and Open Access: Upon acceptance, authors will transfer copyright of the manuscript to the journal. The journal operates under an open-access model, meaning that all published articles will be freely available to researchers worldwide.

Publication Fees:

A publication fee of $1,500 applies to all accepted manuscripts. Authors facing financial constraints may request a waiver or partial reduction by contacting the editorial office in advance.
