Public Health and Epidemiology: Open Access

Aim & Scope
Public Health and Epidemiology: Open Access is dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that advances the field of public health and epidemiology. The journal aims to provide a platform for scientific studies that inform policy, practice, and research across a broad range of topics related to public health challenges, the distribution of diseases, and health interventions. Our mission is to foster collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and policymakers to promote evidence-based solutions that improve global health outcomes.
The scope of the journal covers the following areas, but is not limited to:
1. Epidemiological Research: The journal publishes studies that investigate the patterns, causes, and effects of diseases in populations. This includes observational studies, cohort studies, case-control studies, and clinical trials that explore disease risk factors, transmission dynamics, and epidemiological modeling.
2. Global Health: We are particularly interested in research that addresses the global burden of disease, health disparities, and the impact of social, economic, and environmental factors on health. Studies on maternal and child health, malnutrition, infectious diseases, and neglected tropical diseases are of significant importance.
3. Chronic Disease Epidemiology: The journal welcomes research that focuses on the epidemiology of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and respiratory diseases. This includes studies on the epidemiology of these diseases across different demographics and geographical regions, as well as preventative measures.
4. Environmental Health and Climate Change: Articles that explore the impact of environmental factors, including air and water quality, sanitation, and climate change, on public health are highly encouraged. This includes studies examining the links between environmental exposures and health outcomes, as well as strategies for mitigating these effects.
5. Health Policy and Systems: Research that evaluates the effectiveness of health policies, health systems, healthcare delivery, and public health interventions is a critical area of focus. This also includes health economics, equity in healthcare, and policy analysis related to health reform, access to healthcare, and the efficiency of healthcare services.
6. Infectious Diseases and Vaccination: We are interested in studies that explore the epidemiology of infectious diseases, vaccination programs, and strategies to control and eliminate infectious diseases globally. This includes research on emerging diseases, epidemic preparedness, and the role of immunization in preventing infectious disease transmission.
7. Public Health Interventions and Strategies: The journal publishes studies on the effectiveness of public health interventions, health promotion programs, and strategies for disease prevention at the population level. Research on behavioral health, mental health, substance use, and preventative healthcare is of significant interest.
8. Social Determinants of Health: The journal also publishes research on the social determinants of health, including socioeconomic factors, education, employment, and housing, and how these factors influence health outcomes. Studies on health equity, access to care, and the social gradients of health are encouraged.
9. Health Surveillance and Data Science: We welcome studies that utilize innovative approaches in data science, health surveillance systems, and digital health technologies to monitor and predict health trends and outbreaks. This includes the use of big data, artificial intelligence, and epidemiological informatics in public health research.
