Chromatography

Chromatography is a laboratory technique for the separation of a mixture. The mixture is dissolved in a fluid called the mobile phase, which carries it through a structure holding another material called the stationary phase. The various constituents of the mixture travel at different speeds, causing them to separate.Chromatography is actually a way of separating out a mixture of chemicals, which are in gas or liquid form, by letting them creep slowly past another substance, which is typically a liquid or solid.  As the mobile phase moves, it separates out into its components on the stationary phase.Chromatography is used in industrial processes to purify chemicals, test for trace amounts of substances, separate chiral compounds and test products for quality control. Chromatography is the physical process by which complex mixtures are separated or analyzed. Chromatography is used to separate a substance.
